John W. Tympanick, CPA, MST led the drive for the conversion of LLJUA to the Hospitality Insurance Group. He was named President and CEO of the company in 2004.

Tympanick previously served as Chief Financial Officer, joining the LLJUA as Controller in 1991. Before working at LLJUA, he was the Assistant Controller for Lube 495, Inc. of Braintree, a franchisee of Jiffy Lube. He also was a regional accountant for American Cablesystems, Inc. of Beverly, which is now part of Comcast. He began his career as an accountant with Mark Alpert, CPA in Needham.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College in North Andover in 1984 and a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley University in Waltham in 1999. Tympanick played amateur baseball in Arlington for the Inter-City League and was captain of his collegiate team. Continuing with his love for baseball and hockey, he coached youth sports in Plymouth, MA for many years.

Tympanick is a certified public accountant as well as a member of both the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He was formally a member of the board of directors for the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and Mega Group. He was also Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Mega Group as well as Investment Committee member for MMMRP and Hospitality Insurance Group.

He also is currently serving as a Hearing Officer for the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.

Sandra Haley has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Hospitality Insurance Group, she served as Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager for Harleysville Insurance Company in Worcester. Before that, she served as Assistant Vice President at Allied American Insurance Agency in Natick, MA. She also served in various executive positions at Lumber Insurance Companies in Framingham, including Vice President – Underwriting, Vice President – Administration and Assistant Vice President – Lumber Operations.

Haley earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager.

Stephanie Connon brings a combination of experience in both the legal and insurance industries to Hospitality Insurance Group. She began her career working for a commercial litigation law firm, handling a variety of personal injury claims. Over the next 14 years, she steadily advanced at a Fortune 100 insurance company based in Boston, MA. During her time there, she successfully analyzed risks associated with complex, commercial litigation on behalf of high profile policyholders. Prior to joining Hospitality Insurance Group, she formed her own law practice devoted to the defense of construction law litigation.

Connon earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, cum laude. She then attended the New England School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2004.

Eric Piurkowski, CPA has 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Hospitality Insurance Group, he served as a Senior Audit Manager at Saslow, Lufkin & Buggy LLP in Avon, CT. Before that, he served as an Audit Manager in the Financial Services Group at Deloitte in Hartford, CT.

Piurkowski earned a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT in 1998. He is a certified public accountant and a member of both the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
